Lubang Raksasa Guatemala

Lubang Raksasa - Severe tropical storms in Central America to swallow at least 73 casualties, officials said.

Agatha storm triggered flooding and landslides in several places.

Central American countries who suffer most by the storm, Guatemala recorded at least 73 casualties. Nine people died in El Salvador and at least one person was killed in Honduras.

Agatha storm hit the Pacific Ocean on Saturday, bringing torrential rains that add to the chaos caused by an erupting volcano in Guatemala.

Heavy rain continues and has sparked fears of further damage will be widespread.

Entry into a state of emergency declared in three countries: Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

Rescue teams are working hard to remove debris from roads to reach communities that are isolated from the outside world.

Many areas still not reached and the death toll is expected to increase.

Some parts of Guatemala received the most torrential rain in a period of 60 years, said President Alvaro Colom.

He stated some areas experienced rainfall of more than one meter.

More than 70,000 people were evacuated from their homes in Guatemala, told Reuters news agency.
