Dan sampai akhirnya istri bapak Raul menunjukkan bukti-bukti otentik tentang pernikahan mereka. Saya sadar telah melakukan kekeliruan," jelas KD sambil menangis.

Janda dua anak ini mengaku keliru telah memercayai Raul begitu saja tanpa melakukan cross check atas pengakuan Raul telah berstatus duda. Apalagi selama ini, KD telah dengan sangat percaya diri mengumbar hubungan dengan Raul. Sementara, ternyata Raul masih suami orang.

"Saya keliru memercayai bapak Raul begitu saja. Saya sangat terpukul dan terus diingatkan oleh Yuni bahwa saya tidak bisa berhubungan dengan suami orang. Setelah tahu Raul masih punya istri dan anak, KD memilih angkat kaki. "Saya ingin menegaskan, antara saya dengan bapak Raul tidak ada lagi hubungan suatu apapun saat ini. Kalau memang jodoh, tentu saya ingin yang terbaik dan tidak mendekatkan saya kepada jodoh yang terbaik," tandasnya.

Pidato Kita

Contoh Pidato - SEMUA yang hadir mendengar ataupun menyaksikan pidato politik Megawati dalam pembukaan Kongres III PDIP di Sanur Bali, akan diliputi perasaan ‘campur aduk’. Banyak substansi pidato Mega itu yang mengejutkan. Namun, ada juga substansi pidato yang cenderung datar, melebar, mengulang, menyerang atau bahkan menampilkan sisi melo-dramatik khas Mega.

Disebut mengejutkan karena dua hal: pertama, Pidato Mega berani melakukan kritik otokritik secara terbuka terhadap performa partai dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir. Mega secara gamblang menyebutkan kemerosotan suara PDIP dalam Pemilu 2004 maupun 2009 merupakan muara dari kegagalan melakukan konsolidasi organisasi dan pelembagaan partai mulai dari rendahnya kecakapan, tidak adanya media partai untuk menggalang opini, tidak adanya data base dan keterbatasan sumber pembiayaan. Juga kelangkaan kepemimpinan, pengaturan kelembagaan terpusat pada satu tiang, kurangnya sinergi antar-tiang penyangga, problem kaderisasi dan belum terlembaganya sistem rekrutmen. Dari semua otokritik itu yang paling menarik adalah ketika Mega menyoroti secara khusus rendahnya disiplin warga PDIP yang ditandai dengan hilangnya semangat aktivisme dan voluntarisme dalam elan berpolitik digantikan pertimbangan untung rugi dan model-model berpolitik transaksional. Dalam model
transaksional, partai selanjutnya dilihat sebagai alat akumulasi ekonomi dan transportasi yang cepat untuk keuntungan ekonomi individual.

Kedua, dalam pidatonya Megawati secara mengejutkan berani keluar dari perdebatan soal koalisi dan oposisi dengan membawa kembali wacana partai ideologis. Dalam pernyataannya, Mega mengkritik pada proses reduksi berpolitik sebagai perebutan dan pembagian kekuasaan antar-kekuatan politik ataupun antar-elite politik. Bagi Mega, tujuan berpartai seharusnya diletakkan sebagai alat perjuangan ideologis, dimana politik berpartai adalah sarana kebudayaan rakyat untuk mewujudkan kedaulatan politik, berdikari ekonomi dan berkebudayaan. Dan bagian yang paling penting dalam pernyataannya, Megawati menegaskan urgensi posisi PDIP sebagai kekuatan pengontrol dan penyeimbang, yang dilakukan dengan mengajukan berbagai alternatif kebijakan.
Selain ada sisi yang mengejutkan, pidato politik Mega juga terdengar datar dan mengulang ketika Mega menyampaikan bahwa kemerosotan suara PDIP adalah juga produk penyelenggaraan demokrasi yang manipulatif. Megawati terkesan masih mempersoalkan Pemilu 2009 sebagai pemilu yang telah mendemonstrasikan watak manipulatif. Dan bahkan menyebut Pemilu 2009 meninggalkan catatan hitam dalam sejarah politik Indonesia. Apa yang disampaikan Mega ini tentu saja mengulang berbagai pernyataan politik yang pernah dikeluarkan menanggapi hasil Pemilu 2009.

Dalam pidatonya Mega juga terlihat ‘menyerang’ terhadap kecenderungan cara berpolitik elite yang memenangkan pertarungan. Terkesan sekali pernyataan itu ditujukan pada cara berpolitik SBY. Ada beberapa poin pernyataan Mega yang arahnya mengkritik perilaku politik elite: pertama, kecenderungan menggunakan politik sebagai melodrama seperti sinetron yang sarat belas kasihan dan kepura-puraan. Kedua, penekanan yang berlebihan pada citra yang sangat mengandalkan pada popularitas seperti terekam dalam survey serta penggunaan indeks kepuasan sebagai ukuran terpenting dalam pengambilan keputusan. Ketiga, Mega menyoroti secara khusus kekacauan pengelolaan pemerintahan yang nampak dari kasus Bank Century. Dan Mega menuntut Presiden untuk menunaikan kewajiban konstitusionalnya untuk menuntaskan kasus Bank Century.

Dan terakhir, pidato Mega adalah pidato yang menampilkan sisi emosional Mega. Ada dua momen dalam pembacaan pidato yang memperlihatkan Mega menangis. Momen pertama ketika Mega mengucapkan kembali kata-kata Bung Karno: ”Majulah terus, jangan mundur, mundur hancur, mandeg ambleg: bongkar, maju terus, kita tak bisa dan tak boleh berbalik lagi. Kita telah mencapai point of no return”. Momen kedua adalah tatkala Mega menyampaikan terima kasih pada daerah-daerah yang telah mampu mempertahankan serta menaikkan perolehan suara dalam Pemilu Legislatif maupun Pemilu Presiden.
Akhirnya, bagi pengamat dan peserta kongres, pidato Mega justru menjadi semacam anti klimaks karena berbagai hal yang diperdebatkan dalam minggu-minggu terakhir menjelang kongres-seperti wacana oposisi dan koalisi, mendapatkan gambaran posisi politik yang diambil oleh Mega dalam pidato ini. Pidato politik tentu saja mempunyai pengaruh pada sikap politik yang akan dikeluarkan oleh PDIP. Semangat untuk mengambil pilihan oposisi tidak saja nampak jelas dalam pidato Mega, namun juga terbaca dari bunyi spanduk, poster dan baliho yang tersebar di lokasi acara kongres. Sebagian besar spanduk yang dipasang Dewan Pengurus Cabang menyuarakan kehendak kuat akar rumput untuk memilih PDIP menjadi kekuatan oposisi. Dan akhirnya pidato Mega memberi jawaban atas kehendak akar rumput itu.

Setelah wacana koalisi-oposisi selesai, pertarungan dalam kongres akan bergeser pada perebutan posisi strategis. Namun sepertinya pertarungan itu coba diminimalisir dengan menjadikan Mega sebagai formatur tunggal. Keputusan menetapkan Mega menjadi formatur tunggal ini jelas memiliki kalkulasi politik karena dimaksudkan untuk untuk mencegah pertarungan yang meluas dalam pengisian kepengurusan dan tentu saja terlihat keinginan menjaga soliditas partai. Begitupula dengan pemberian kewenangan prerogratif pada Mega untuk melakukan penonaktifan pengurus DPP yang melanggar aturan partai.

Dengan demikian, Kongres III PDIP di Bali sesungguhnya menjadi arena pengukuhan Mega sebagai patron tunggal dalam dinamika proses politik internal PDIP. Pertanyaan berikutnya: ”apakah model patron tunggal seperti ini akan menghindari PDIP dari faksionalisme yang tajam dan selanjutnya mencegah kemerosotan suara dalam Pemilu 2014? Ataukah: ”model patron tunggal ini justru menimbulkan implikasi politik yang berulang dalam siklus lima tahunan di PDIP?” Pertanyaan itu penting untuk diajukan karena dalam Kongres PDIP pertama di Semarang dan kedua di Bali, titik episentrum perpecahan PDIP justru dimulai dari pengukuhan Mega sebagai patron tunggal. Secara estetika perubahan utama adalah bungkusnya yang terbuat dari logam baru, tombol volume, dan panel belakang hitam di tempat belakang melengkung.

Jason Chen dari Gizmodo mengatakan hampir tidak ada kemungkinan telepon ini palsu. "Kami mendapatkan tips palsu setiap waktu," katanya. "Tapi setelah bermain dengan (temuan) itu selama seminggu ... ada begitu banyak bukti mendukungnya bahwa ada kemungkinan sangat kecil bahwa itu palsu. “

Obat Keputihan - The Health Ministry's Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) national adviser Doctor Isimeli Tukana said this situation was contributing to mental health illnesses.

Obat - Dr Tukana said mental health was part of NCDs which include diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, accidents and injuries.

Dr Tukana made the comments at the Fiji Nursing Association workshop on mental health in Nadi on Friday. He said statistics showed that 80 per cent of illnesses, disabilities and deaths in Fiji were linked to NCDs.

He said people must understand the link between smoking, eating, drinking alcohol and physical activity and make changes to their behaviour to reduce the risk of getting NCDs. "This is a process that takes time and involves behavioural changes," he said.

"These things are all linked to mental health as well.

He said most depressions were because of the challenging situation people faced in the country.

According to the latest Masters news, Tiger Woods' return to golf after five months away is the longest hiatus since Ben Hogan took time off to recover from being hit by a bus. Since that incident, Woods has entered himself into rehab and will continue to become a "better man" as he has noted in press conferences. Target Pemerintah Capai Tujuan

Contoh Pidato - Target pemerintah mencapai delapan tujuan pokok Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) pada 2015, agaknya bakal kesampaian. Karena saat ini, lima dari 8 tujuan MDG'S sudah berada pada jalurnya (on the track), sedangkan sisanya masih membutuhkan kerja keras. "Dalam lima tahun terakhir ini diharapkan tiga dari delapan capaian MDG's yang belum on the track bisa kita peroleh," kata Menko Kesra HR Agung Laksono dalam pidato yang dibacakan Sekretaris Kemenko Kesra Indroyono Soesilo pada Rakornas Penguatan Sistem Kesehatan, Kependudukan, dan Keluarga Berencana (KB), di Jakarta, Selasa (30/3) malam.

Pidato Indroyono mewakili Menko Kesra Agung Laksono, yang berhalangan hadir karena mendampingi Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono dalam kunjungan kerja ke Jawa Timur.

Ia menjelaskan, MDGs memiliki tujuan dan target yang harus dicapai pada 2015. Tujuannya ada delapan, yakni menanggulangi kemiskinan dan kelaparan, mencapai pendidikan untuk semua, mendorong kesadaran gender dan pemberdayaan perempuan.

Selain itu mengurangi kematian anak, meningkatkan kesehatan ibu, memerangi HIV dan AIDS serta penyakit menular, memastikan kelestarian lingkungan hidup, dan mengembangkan kemitraan global.

"Dari delapan tujuan tersebut, untuk menurunkan angka kematian ibu melahirkan, kita masih harus kerja keras. Saat ini angkanya masih sebanyak 228 per seratus ribu, sementara sasaran yang harus dicapai 108 per 100 ribu," kata Indroyono.

Kematian Bayi

Sementara itu capaian yang sudah on the track, Sesmenko Kesra memberi contoh penurunan kemiskinan dengan menggunakan standar pendapatan satu dolar AS per hari.

"Kita sudah mencapai target itu pada 2007 yang lalu, yakni 10 persen. Tapi kalau menggunakan ukuran pendapatannya dua dolar AS per hari, angkanya masih 49 persen," katanya.

Indroyono mencontohkan, tujuan keempat pada target tingkat kematian anak dan tingkat kematian bayi sudah mencapai target, yakni 44 per seribu untuk kematian anak.

Untuk kematian anak target pada 2015 sebesar 32 per seribu, sementara kematian bayi 34 per seribu, target pada 2015 sebesar 19 per seribu.

Sebelumnya, Indroyono mengemukakan dari laporan pencapaian MDGs Indonesia, masih perlu mencermati satu per satu target 2015 dan kemudian menyusun strategi dan mekanisme secara sistematis untuk pencapaiannya.

Menurut Sesmenko Kesra, ada hal yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian semua pihak, yakni yang berkaitan dengan kesenjangan atau disparitas pencapaian antardaerah.

"Secara nasional, suatu target sudah dicapai, namun jika dilihat dari capaian masing-masing daerah, masih banyak daerah yang berada di bawah angka nasional tersebut," ucapnya.

Rakornas diikuti gubernur, bupati, wali kota atau yang mewakili. Rakornas merupakan forum interaksi antara pusat dan daerah untuk bahan penyusunan strategi pencapaian MDGs Indonesia.

"Ini merupakan langkah awal yang baik dalam upaya mencapai tujuan seluruh target MDGs," katanya.

Memperingati Pengorbanan Yesus

Umat Katolik di Grobokan, Jawa Tengah, hanya dengan misa mereka memperingati pengorbanan Yesus Kristus di kayu salib. Dalam pesannya, Romo Eko meminta umat Kristen belajar dari pengorbanan Yesus Kristus yang berkorban tanpa pamrih.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro retains the 3.2-inch screen, and looks equally eye catching.

The main benefit of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro over its sibling is the inclusion of a proper hardware keypad. It slides out from underneath the display, making it much easier to enter text. Considering text entry was the major issue we had with the original Sony Ericsson Vivaz – with a particularly unresponsive touchscreen keypad – the Vivaz Pro could go a long way to restoring our faith in the Vivaz name.

Does it come at a cost, however? Unusually, the Vivaz Pro isn’t a great deal thicker than the Vivaz. Previous full QWERTY smartphones that we’ve seen – such as the HTC Touch Pro 2 – have been a lot bulkier than their non-touchscreen siblings – such as the HTC Touch Diamond 2. In this case, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is just a couple of millimetres thicker than the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, and should retain most of its portability and sleek design.

There is one perceived downside, however, which is the loss of the 8-Megapixel camera found on the Sony Ericsson Vivaz. On the Vivaz Pro, this has been lowered to 5-Megapixels. This doesn’t necessarily mean that image quality will be reduced – we’ve seen plenty of fantastic 5-Megapixel camera phones, such as the Nokia N97 Mini – but it’s something worth considering. That said, The Vivaz Pro still retains the ability to shoot HD video, so it’s looking good for the Pro.

Other than the camera, all the other major specs stay the same for both the Sony Ericsson Vivaz and the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro. With only the touchscreen keypad letting the Vivaz down in our review, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro looks like a great device, offering the usability that should have been available from the start with the Vivaz. In this case, there can only be one winner.

Our Obsession with Gadgets

Nexian She NX-G788 - So what is it with us and our gadgets? We seem to be growing more passionate about them, whether it’s that shiny new petite digital camera with 12 megapixels, face recognition and optical image stabilization, or that Blu-ray Disc Player exhilarating us with all 2 million pixels delivered in our newly installed home theater system with a receiver that can blast lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD master audio. Or maybe it’s that recently purchased Blackberry Storm that most of us have a love/hate relationship with and that is on the verge of becoming obsolete by Storm2 within months (with hopefully a better touch screen, usable software and WiFi). And even though we were almost scared to buy anything in the first few months of the year, we have now come back with a vengeance, scooping up all the latest and greatest gadgets we’ve always aspired to own to make our digital lives more productive and enjoyable.

Nexian She - Retrevo is releasing its monthly Pulse Report for May. Surprise, surprise... what do we see? Electronics shoppers are back in the market buying electronics but not just any electronics. We’re buying gadgets that are new and shiny, and we’re willing to pay higher prices for these innovative products that deliver the latest and greatest features. The most notable categories picking up momentum are Digital Cameras and Optical Disc Players (some of us are used to calling this category DVD Players but the introduction of Blu-ray changes the definition so it will take some getting used to).

Here are the specifics:

1. Optical Disc Players: more than a third of Optical Disc Players shipping now are Blu-ray. These Blu-ray players comprised less than 10% last holiday season. This transition to newer, hi-def technology has created an uplift in ASPs of > 20% post-holiday season. And in mid-April, demand started picking up for Optical Disc Players. So people are not only buying Optical Disc Players, they are spending more money than ever before to acquire the latest and greatest in hi-def.

2. Digital Cameras: more than 50% of shipping digital cameras now have optical image stabilization and face recognition making it easy to click and organize those precious memories. DSLR is also finding its way downstream with a more consumer friendly interface and form factors. Aided by general knowledge, consumers are buying these higher feature products and paying higher prices (10% higher than last holiday season). Digital Camera demand had been flat from Feb through April but it has picked up in May. So again, people are not only buying Digital Cameras but they are willing to pay higher prices to acquire the latest and greatest than ever before.

Now don't take me the wrong way. The fact that people are spending more money doesn't mean consumers aren't value conscious. In fact, a recent Retrevo Gadgetology analysis revealed that 76% of Consumer Electronics shoppers selected products based on good value (34%), Trusted sites and experts raving about a product/brand (25%) and other users raving about a product/brand (10%). The consumers are absolutely value conscious for the technology they wish to purchase, they just are not interested in buying cheapest products around without regard to the innovation.

So did we see any disappointment in Retrevo's Pulse Report? Absolutely. HDTVs and Home Theater Systems continue to disappoint consumers. Here is our analysis of these two categories:

1. Home Theater Systems: these were hot during the last holiday season but demand plummeted post-holiday season along with everything else. Prices after being stable for better part of this year started falling in mid-Apr (now down > 10%). Yet the demand has continued to fall. Why is this so when Optical Disc Players are picking up? Guess how many Home Theater Systems ship with a Blu-ray player? Less than 5%. Yes, while consumers can buy HDTVs and Blu-ray players to their heart's content, they can't find Home Theater Systems with a Blu-ray player. Yikes! Lesson learned? Don't assume consumers will keep buying stale products with no major innovation in sight for more than 6 months. And we are not talking about new innovation, HTS manufacturers just need to keep up with the market, follow the lead from HDTV and Blu-ray players and get more Blu out. There is pent-up demand. Amen to that!

2. HDTVs: this category is near and dear to my heart. High momentum in the first half and excess inventory in the second half of 2008 depressed prices to unrealistic levels last holiday season. Negative margins forced brands and retailers to raise prices post-holiday season as excess inventory cleared from the channel (ASPs up more than 30% from January to mid-April). Even though the category has gone through a refresh cycle in last few months (more than 50% of currently selling HDTVs were introduced this year) but demand hasn't picked up even after a technology refresh cycle. What is the innovation in HDTVs lately? Transition from 720p to 1080p? Yawn! Consumers are not biting. Let's work on the basics. Get the best out-of-the-box experience without worrying about ISF specs, calibration etc, get HDTVs to network and "simply" download content from your computer and from the Internet, and we will have a shot at making people spend more for the newer technology rather than simply gravitating to value brands for a seemingly commoditized technology.

What's the takeaway? overall demand is soft (Retrevo's Demand Index shows a 15% decline year-over-year), lower demand doesn't translate into people buying cheap (and commoditized) technology. Consumers care about innovation, latest and greatest (in a meaningful way, not from marketing speak). Consumers are spending 20% more time researching and yes, they will want the best value and good quality products but at the same time, they will spend more for the innovation. So let's not slow down the pace of innovation. Let's push the envelope, think about ways to make our daily lives more connected, more productive and more enjoyable and we the consumers, will spend more money because it will be worth it. This is what I call Obsession for a Purpose!

Choosing the Right Aftermarket Springs for your Car

Springs, together with anti-roll bars, have a significant effect on the feel of a car and its responsiveness to steering input. Increasing spring rate at a particular corner of the car transfers more weight to that corner making it slide more. Hence, if your car is understeering, you can either decrease front spring rate or increase rear spring rate to correct the condition. You can increase front spring rate and decrease rear spring rate to correct oversteer.

Installing lowering springs on your car can provide a substantial improvement in handling. The center of gravity of the car will be lower, which will allow the four tires to stay more evenly planted to the ground. Lowering a car is more involved than just installing shorter springs. It is usually necessary to readjust the camber on the front and possible the rear suspension since it will change when the car is lowered. Generally, a car should have a full alignment after lowering the suspension. Although lowering a car will usually improve handling, lowering it too much will not allow for enough suspension travel, or stroke. The car may bottom out on the suspension (suspension reaches full travel) or the chassis may actually hit the ground, leading to loss of traction and possible damage to the underside of your car.

When lowering a car, you must consider what type of driving conditions the car will see and what spring rates are appropriate for you. If you significantly lower the car, you will need stiff springs to limit the suspension travel and prevent bottoming out. Also, if you plan to race on bumpy surfaces or do mostly street driving, I recommend avoiding a suspension setup with very small travel. You need a fair amount of suspension travel to absorb bumps. If you make your suspension too stiff because you have very little suspension travel, then small bumps will tend to lift the wheels off the ground instead of being absorbed by the suspension. If the car bottoms out, it will experience a sudden loss in traction that can easily lead to a spinout or crash. Therefore, on bumpy tracks, use softer springs and greater ride height to improve handling and avoid bottoming out.

I feel that all children can write down their feelings. Some may not be able to put in poem format, but I see them as poems anyway as they are from the heart. This may be the best way for them to express themselves.

When you see some spare time for your child coming up, why not give some space, and provide pencil and paper. Ask your child to write about how he or she feels about birds, or snow, or the blue sky, or you, or whatever. My guess is that you will be surprised!

"Ini menindaklanjuti pernyataan polisi yang sudah menetapkan Sammy sebagai tersangka," kata manajer Kerispatih, Ingga dalam perbincangan di tvOne, Jumat (5/2).

Menurut Ingga manajemen 'Kerispatih' belum membahas hal itu. Namun, pihak manajemen juga harus memikirkan tanggung jawab label dan kontrak kerja lainnya. Akan ada pilihan-pilihan yang diambil agar Kerispatih tetap bisa berjalan profesional

Kasus Sammy, lanjut dia, membuat manajemen bingung menyelesaikan pekerjaan. Mereka juga merasa terganggu.

Sammy Kerispatih Ditangkap polisi, Vokalis grup band Kerispatih, Hendra Samuel Simorangkir (28) alias Sammy, mengaku mendapatkan barang "setan" jenis sabu dari seorang teman berinisial NS. Berdasarkan hasil informasi tersebut, pihak aparat Polrestro Jakarta Pusat langsung mengembangkan ke kawasan Manggabesar, Jakarta Barat, Selasa (2/2/2010) pukul 19.00. Di sana polisi menangkap NS. "Dari NS kami menyita barang bukti berupa 4 gram sabu," ujar Kapolrestro Jakarta Pusat Kombes Hamidin saat memberikan penjelasan kepada wartawan, Selasa (2/2/2010) malam.

Sammy Kerispatih ditangkap aparat di rumah kosnya di Jalan Pedurenan Sawit No 62 kamar A5, Setiabudi, Jakarta Selatan, Selasa (2/2/2010) pukul 02.30. Dari tangan Sammy polisi mengamankan satu paket sabu dan sebuah alat isap (bong).

Hamidin menjelaskan, polisi sudah lama mengendus kebiasaan Sammy mengonsumsi sabu. Sammy kerap mengonsumsi barang haram itu di sebuah hotel kenamaan di Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Cempakaputih, Jakarta Pusat.

Tertangkapnya NS bisa membuat posisi Sammy sebagai pemakai atau pengguna atau korban akan sangat jelas sesuai Undang-Undang (UU) Nomor 35 Tahun 2009 tentang Narkotika, serta Surat Edaran Mahkamah Agung Nomor 7 Tahun 2009 tentang Menempatkan Pemakai Narkoba ke dalam Panti Terapi dan Rehabilitasi.

Surat edaran antara lain menyebutkan, mereka yang tertangkap tangan membawa sabu maksimal 0,25 gram diposisikan sebagai pemakai dan bukan tersangka. Dengan catatan, dia bukan residivis kasus narkoba dan tidak ada bukti bahwa yang bersangkutan merangkap menjadi pengedar atau produsen narkoba.

Selanjutnya, seperti disebut surat edaran, sesuai Pasal 41 UU Nomor 5 Tahun 1997 tentang Psikotropika dan UU Nomor 22 Tahun 1997 tentang Narkotika, hakim dapat memerintahkan pengguna psikotropika menjalani pengobatan atau perawatan.

Sementara itu, Undang-Undang Nomor 35 Tahun 2009 Pasal 54 menyebutkan, pecandu narkotika dan korban penyalahgunaan narkotika wajib menjalani rehabilitasi medis dan rehabilitasi sosial

Storm snarls roads in South
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A snowstorm blanketed the South yesterday, with drivers warned to stay off slippery roads as officials worked to clear a mess of wrecks and downed power lines.

Nearly a foot of snow had fallen in parts of western North Carolina, and nearly 10 inches had fallen in some areas north of Memphis, Tenn. A central Tennessee woman was killed when a tree weighed down with ice crashed into her mobile home, a fire department official said.

To the northeast, the Washington-Baltimore area was preparing for 4 to 8 inches of snow. About a foot of snow was reported in the Richmond area, the National Weather Service said. In northern Virginia, the storm caused several multi-vehicle crashes along Interstate 81, state police said. Four people were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. - AP

Fire kills at least five in Brooklyn
NEW YORK - A deadly fire tore through a building that housed Guatemalan immigrants, gnawing gaping holes in its backside, partially collapsing the roof, and killing at least five people yesterday.

The early-morning blaze at the Brooklyn building is being investigated as a possible case of arson because it started behind the door of the first-floor entrance to the building, New York City Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano said.

Four people in the building were injured, including an infant and an older child who were tossed out the window by a woman frantically trying to save them. The infant was in critical condition with a fractured skull after bystanders below failed to catch him, officials and witnesses said. The other child landed on an awning. - AP

Skating On Rough Surfaces

Nancy Kerrigan - Unlike those lucky Paris Skaters with their smooth wide pavements and even smoother wider roads, us poor neglected London Skaters aren’t so lucky, with our bumpy narrow pavements, potholes, overcrowded roads and miles upon miles of rough surfaces. Ok, so it’s not that bad everywhere in London, but for the most part it isn’t too far from the truth.

But if you follow this simple guide and combine it with regular street skating practice you’ll master skating on rough surfaces in no time:

1. Keep your strides short, maintaining a long stride on rough surfaces isn’t easy and can lead to some embarrassing tumbles.

2. Bend your knees more to absorb the impact, this will also improve your overall balance.

3. Go faster not slower, it’s much easier to cross a rough surface going fast than it is slowly, plus if you go too slow you risk walking in your skates and it will be difficult to get a decent stride going again.

4. Bring your skates back under your body as quickly as possible (Higher Cadence) after each stride, this again helps with balance and overall control.

5. Keep those toes loose and wiggly, because less weight on your toes means greater control for your skates and it helps you to move more naturally over rough surfaces.

6. If the rough surface is only short and you think you can cross it in one push, then get that speed built up and cross it with one skate in front of the other (aka the Scissor), you should also make sure that your legs are roughly one fist width apart, not too far apart or you’ll lose your balance. Remember to keep those knees bent!

7. Ultimately the only way to master rough surfaces is through practice. Rough surfaces are a major hazard though, so please be careful and wear your protective gear.

I neither hate nor love Apple, but the company tends to have those that are at each extreme of the love hate relationship. I have an iPhone I really like, but I am not a fan of Mac computers. If you are a Mac fan and have wished for more screen sizes in the iMac line, your wish may be coming true.

A rumor floating around has Quanta building a new 22-inch iMac computer for Apple that is set to hit this year. There are no hard details on the rumor, but the screen size would fit in between the two existing models.

The part that makes me wonder is that I can’t see the trouble of a new model being warranted for an extra half-inch of screen space compared to the existing 21.5-inch model. Only time will tell if the rumor is true.

The Law of Attraction, Goal Setting and Magic

Ramalan Nama - Ever since the movie & book 'The Secret', the Law of Attraction has gone from a little known tool used by just a few, to a term known by millions of people around the world. There are thousands of web-sites and dozens of Gurus all proclaiming there knowledge of this ancient law.

So, what do the law of attraction, goal setting and magick have to do with each other, what are the common denominators? Simple, the law of attraction states that what you focus on with desire, and hold in your mind as being true, will eventually come about. All of these terms are just systems of acquiring something, that you desire. It can be material, emotional or mental.

Why do some people use magick to achieve their goals? Why all the symbols and rituals? If you have any knowledge of goal setting or the law of attraction, you probably use one or more of the following methods;

* meditation
* visualisation
* affirmations
* motivational music or surroundings
* pictures and vision boards
* writing out your goals
* good luck charm or lucky item
* asking for help from God or the Universe

It has been documented many times that using more of your senses (i.e. sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch etc) when goal setting & visualising will increase your chances of obtaining your desires and anchor your goals strongly into your unconscious mind.

Seriously, a goal that is focused on regularly using positive emotion, most of your senses and firm belief in a positive outcome, will be much more likely to succeed than a few mumbled, half-hearted words.

Using magick, especially ritual magick to achieve your goals is a powerful tool. No belief in actual witchcraft is required. You can send your requests to any powers or source that you feel right about, gods, angels or just the infinite universe. Oddly enough, you can practice magick and be from almost any religion or even an atheist.

With ritual magick you can use costumes, props, symbols, music, incense, wine or food, images and of course, the spell or rite itself. The spell uses words or rhyme to set your goal. Using magick like this allows you to cover all the senses and really put yourself in a powerful place to ask for and accept your desires.

Back to the law of attraction and goal setting. If you're uncomfortable with anything at all to do with magick or spells it doesn't matter, you can still ad a little ritual to your goal setting and vastly increase the chances or receiving your desires and dreams. Just a few minor additions will turbo charge your attraction ability. Try some of the following;

* perform your visualisation at the same time every day (this sets a routine for your mind)
* use affirmations written in present tense, speak & repeat them aloud if you can
* play positive music that lifts you up
* use a vision board or something else that has images cut-out and pasted of the things you desire
* write out your goals using positive emotions and make them believable
* carry a good luck charm of any kind that represents your current desire, focus on it during the day to remind yourself of your goal
* try to avoid negative thoughts and people
* re-affirm your goal everyday for as long as it takes to achieve it

Whether you use magick or traditional goal setting techniques, the more of yourself that you put into it, the quicker you will realize your dreams. Never rubbish anyones method of using the law of attraction. Negativity of this kind will rob you of your own success and block your ability to attract. Use what works for you and drop what doesn't. Don't be afraid to try new techniques to boost your efforts.

The more you practice, the better you will get and the faster your results will come. At first you may think that nothing is happening, but believe me, as soon as you begin to focus on a goal you have already begun to attract it. What stops the process from finishing for most people is; doubt, negativity and impatience. Give it a chance and you will be rewarded!!!
